Photoshop keyboard shortcuts for the digital painter

Nov
13

Hi there,

here I am with a small guide on the most useful Photoshop CS keyboard shortcuts, expecially made for all of those who use this program for digital painting.
Anyway… many of these shortcuts are fundamental for every Photoshop user!

You can find similar guides around various blogs, so nothing so original here… but I always felt that many of these guides were missing something. So what I’m trying to do here is to collect all of these shortcuts (the best of them in my opinion) in a practical list.

If you are starting to use a monster-program like Photoshop you may think that keybord shortcuts are not one of your main concerns… but at the end of the day they can really increase your work efficiency, so it’s a good practice to learn them as soon as you can, even if you are a Photoshop novice.

note: for Mac users (like me :) ) when I refer to CTRL just use COMMAND instead

Here we go!

Back From London

Oct
24

Just returned from my beloved London
…a short holiday to do the following activities (in no precise order):

lose myself around Seven Dials, drink good beer, spend the whole Sunday in Camden Market and eat like there’s no tomorrow, read all the books at Borders and Foyles while drinking a hot cup of Cappuccino, buy art books and other marvelous things at Forbidden Planet and ask God why I am not born with a lot of money in my wallet (maybe because otherwise I would have bought the entire shop long time ago), greet the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the wise Thames and all my old friends, drink Ribena, smell the terrible but inspiring air of the Underground, pass in front of my old house with tears at my eyes, shop at Tesco, pay a quick visit to the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Tate Modern, drink other good beer and eat fish and chips (always like there’s no tomorrow) in a comfortable pub, spend some nights in a lousy but lovable hostel, discover with horror that Turnkey has closed, and that the Virgin mega-store in Tottenham, now called Zavvi (what a silly name!), has no more a floor full of instruments and keyboards ready to be played, solace myself with all the other nice small music shops around there, buy pencils and art stuff (that probably I will never use properly) at the London Graphic Centre, pay a visit to the Apple store in Regent St. and dribble all around, drink good beer (have I already said that?!), figure out how to pass the damn check-in at Stansted airport maintaining my moral and physical integrality.

Well… all of these and nothing more.

I promise to update the blog soon with something useful!  :)

[In the meanwhile I switched to Worpress 2.6.3 for security reasons.
I advice all of you who have a Wordpress blog to do so... it's a painless and quick procedure]

Davanti alla porta

Oct
2

Ottobre.
E’ Ottobre.
Lo si sente nella pelle
lo si sente dappertutto,
come un formicolio
un pensiero
che ti coglie improvviso.

La gente sembra più lenta,
le macchine slittano
ondeggiando sull’asfalto,
adesso che pochi giorni
pochi giorni ancora.
Oh! Sembra ieri,
sembrano mille anni.

E’ Ottobre,
lo si sente nel caffè
della mattina,
lo si sente fra le coperte,
nel pane bruciato,
lo si sente nella pioggia
e sulle strade.

Un volo distratto
di emozioni concentrate,
senza parole, neppure
un soffio,
e tu, sulla soglia
di una porta,
questa porta.

E’ Ottobre,
per sempre Ottobre,
come lo fosse
sempre stato.

Traces Of Humanity Cover

Hello World!

I’m here to announce that I have just finished my latest solo album: Traces Of Humanity.

I received the final master from the mastering studio yesterday, and I have finally finished the cover too.

The album is a concept album that will bring you to a journey through a desolated earth, in a “not so distant” future where the whole humanity is almost nearly extinguished.

Re-painting…

Sep
9

Sorry for the lack of updates here…
I’m currently re-arranging and re-painting my home (and studio), so I’m in a complete mess! :-)
I’ll be back soon… (said with a gruff voice and followed by an evil laugh).

Riflessioni riflessioni…
Ridipingere fa riflettere.
Tutto cambia.
